Beginning to Advanced

Whether your interest is to explore shamanism and put it to work in your life or you are answering the call to become a shamanic healer, teacher, ceremonialist, or scholar, we offer a comprehensive curriculum of in-depth courses designed to assist you through this transformation.

STEPPING STONES: AN INTRODUCTION TO SHAMANISM: If you are new to shamanism, or haven't had much formal training, Stepping Stones is the place to start. The essential practices of modern shamanism will be introduced. The four Stepping Stones are: Creating Sanctuary, Cultivating Gratitude, Manifesting Grace and Allowing Mercy and Forgiveness. Offered on one weekend (or two days) in person. Stepping Stones prepares you to live more authentically while giving you the necessary background for further study should you wish it. Prerequisite: None.
THE SACRED POWER OF FOUR: This is a new offering (Fall, 2024 and Spring, 2025) based on the studies of the Rainbow lineage of Chinchero Peru. This course of study presented over a 5 day retreat will provide you simple techniques to bring clarity, aid in healing personal traumas, discover and understand your purpose, allow you to walk in beauty and authenticity, raise your vibration, and deepen your connection with nature. You will build a personal crystal healing mesa and begin the joy of living in crystal consciousness. We will explore many Fours: Essences, Directions, Animal Totems, Mountains, Bodies of Water, and Temples of the Body. Come prepared to learn deep truths about yourself, navigate through fear, transform heavy energy to the lightest form, discover allies and profound guides and guardians, and become the person you were always meant to be. Prerequisite: Stepping Stones or journey skills or meditation practice.
A LA CARTE CLASSES: Individual courses to support further study with the crystal mesa and deepening our understanding of living as a shamanic individual are under development with offerings anticipated in 2025.
MEDICINE WAY OF EVERYDAY SHAMANISM: This course of study is on hold for now. This series of classes includes foundational teachings. Students walk the path of becoming a full jungle mesa carrier and receive the 9 rights of the Munay-Ki as well as other shamanic initiations. During this course, you acquire forgotten knowledge, wisdom, and skills, while exploring what it truly means to be human. Prerequisite: Stepping Stones or prior experience with shamanism and strong journey skills.
ADVANCED COURSES: Our advanced courses, taught each as a two-day intensive, cover Illumination & Extraction, Soul Retrieval, Death, Dying & Psychopomp, Ceremony & Ritual, Plant Medicine, Advanced Divination, Ancestors & Ancestral Healing, and Advanced Breathwork. Prerequisite: You must either be a graduate of The Medicine Way or have undertaken extensive study with other teachers and have strong journey skills.
APPRENTICESHIPS: Students who have completed advanced coursework with us may apply for an apprenticeship. Apprentices gain valuable, hands-on experience with many or all of the aspects of professional shamanic practice. Apprenticeships are appropriate for students who are considering a shamanic healing or training practice of their own.
